Cruise Vacations

Cruise vacations offer ample opportunities for people to forge lasting friendships and meet new people while luxuriating in the rich ambience of a passenger ship.

A cruise liner is a majestically built ship and resembles a luxury hotel with numerous decks, swimming pools, jacuzzis, theater, casino and dining rooms. It can carry up to 2500 or more passengers and around 1000 crewmembers. The staterooms are fairly large with enough closet space and an attached balcony with chairs. As expected the food is laid out in a buffet and is available round the clock besides the theme eateries like an Asian noodle shop or the delicatessen that serves sandwiches made to order. The dining rooms though, boast of a small menu have an extensive wine list from which one can order. Once the passengers have gorged the delectable food and drunk the best wines they need to work off those calories too! And for that the ship is equipped with a gym and there are special Yoga, Spinning and Pilates classes which can be quite full, so, either one has to book early or make do with the jogging track that is meant for the sheer pleasure of walking those calories off while luxuriating in the fresh sea breeze.

The concept of having fun ` on a cruise lies with group activities, which are listed in the daily cruise newsletter. One can attend an art auction or a wine tasting session besides joining in group games and sing-along sessions at the bar. The night comes and the casino and the night clubs, pubs and bars come alive, you can hear the slot machines from the casino and jazz, hip hop and top forties belting out from the clubs. You can pub-crawl to your hearts content, as well.

Not everything on a ship is for free, however. In general, the juice stations offer round the clock juice service, on the house, but often, soft drinks and ice cream have an extra charge attached to them. The rates of the spa treatment on the ship are pretty steep compared to what we pay ashore and telephone calls are very expensive so its always better to use the Internet cafes at the port of calls.

Going on a cruise not only hones your traveling skills, but also provides you with new friends and memories you will cherish forever!

Avoid Ski Vacation Disasters

If you’ve previously had some disappointing ski trip experiences, then now is a great time to start thinking about avoiding repeats of those experiences. The truth is that ist’s perfectly possible to have a fantastic ski vacation, as so many people find out each year.

What are the main reasons why ski vacations can sometimes be more disappointing than they should be? It seems to me that we can almost put the issues into a series of categories. Let’s begin with a focus on the nature of ski resorts.

If you select the wrong resort then you can find that you’ll have a truly woeful time. The problem is that some resorts are really lacking in terms of facilities, while it’s clear that others may not be suited to your own needs. You probably have requirements that apply specifically to your family.

How can you avoid running into such problems? You’ll certainly need to spend time doing some research and checking that a resort has everything that you need. In a sense, it can certainly be said that we are all relatively fortunate. With Internet access and the ability to read numerous, objective reviews, there’s certainly no lack of information.

What this means is that there’s really little excuse when it comes to finding the right resort. But what about the snow conditions? We all know that a lack of snow can really destroy any trip and that it may also appear to be something that we can do very little about.

This is actually another area where it can be seen that research is particularly useful. You can look at historic snowfall data and also check out the height of particular ski runs. If a deal looks too good to be true, then it may also be the case that the timing could be better.

The choice of resort and the availability of snow will be critical to the success of your trip, but there are plenty more issues to consider. What type of accommodation should you opt for? My own view is that this is one area where it never really makes sense to cut corners.

If you opt for a cheap, budget hotel then you really need to be extremely realistic about the type of standards that you will find there. It’s clearly unlikely to help you to have the ultimate luxury ski vacation. You may wish to look at the alternatives.

It’s easy to see how ski trips can go badly wrong. In order to ensure that you don’t fall into the same traps, it’s worth preparing properly.

Mor Vacations Versus Primo Vacations, It Is Your Choice

A Mor Vacations membership promises to give you an opportunity to travel luxuriously to the best places on earth at unbelievably affordable rates. Mor Vacations is yet another travel club in this regard. However, is Mor Vacations as excellent as Primo Vacations? Which is better: Mor or Primo? To help you in making the comparison, we reviewed both the clubs, and below is the comparison of Mor Vacations versus Primo Vacations.

A Primo Club lifetime membership would cost you almost $700. With this membership, you would be able to select any of the 83,000 vacation resorts and sites that are listed with the club and enjoy more than week long holidays at the selected luxury site at discounts as large as 80 percent. There are not going to be any black out dates, meaning that you would be able to book your holidays at any time of the year even if it is the peak holiday period. However, there will be hot weeks that the club would declare at certain times during the year. If you go for your vacation during these weeks, you would get a better discount than ordinary days.

Though Mor Vacations promises everything that the Primo Club offers, the promises are just that, they are not kept. To begin with, a Mor Vacations Club membership that would offer you the same benefits as the $700 Primo Club Membership will cost you some hundred dollars. There are memberships at lesser prices as well but they would not have many benefits. The number of holiday destinations offered by Mor Vacations is also less than the 83,000 destinations offered by Primo Vacations.

Additionally, though Mor would promise you no blackout days, there would often be times when you will not be able to reach the Club to book your vacations, especially during peak season. At Primo, during peak seasons, the Club would respond to you even though the discounts offered might be slightly lower.

Christmas Short Stories Reading Holiday Favorites Together

Ready to start a fun new tradition using great Christmas short stories?

Most families have a Christmas tradition or two that they look forward to sharing together year after year. Traditions draw us closer together and allow us to slow down and enjoy the Christmas season; they’re also something special to share with future generations. If you don’t have a Christmas tradition, try reading Christmas short stories together this year! It’s free, meaningful and gives a slight pause to each day of the hustle and bustle that comes with the holiday season.

Begin on December 1st and read a story each night until Christmas. You may want to plan ahead by having each family member pick out several of their favorite holiday stories to have on hand. You can borrow some from your local library, download them to your iPod (many can be downloaded free), or listen to audio stories. If you are stuck and don’t have enough favorites for each day, explore some new stories. We’ve created a list below to help get you started.

Make story time special by turning off the TV, computers, and iPods after dinner each night (unless of course, you’ve downloaded your Christmas short stories to your iPod). Light some candles, or gather the family around the lit Christmas tree. Make some apple cider or hot chocolate and have a small treat like a Christmas sugar cookie or shortbread to go with your hot drink. Then settle in to read, or listen to, your Christmas short stories.

You’ll be surprised at how much your family will look forward to this quiet time with each other and you may even have some wonderful conversations during or after reading these timeless Christmas short stories together. Story time is also a great way to wind everyone down before bed, both young and old.

Make this Christmas special and begin a tradition that your family will look forward to each year. Your kids will remember this tradition and may even pass it on to their kids someday!

Here are some stories to get you started. You can find many of these free online.

The Gift, by R. Louis Carroll
The Story of Babouska

Country Vacations Kerala A Jewel In A Necklace

One of the branches of Country Club India is the Country Vacations Kerala, which takes a tourist right into the heart of Gods Own Country. Along with the tourism industry, the corporate and industrial sector is not left behind by the Country Vacations Kerala, with Cochin being one of the major sea ports. It is widely known that Country Vacations Kerala serves its guests with utmost care and respect. The Kerala state is known not only for its beauty, but awesome hospitality also, and The Country Vacation acts as an icing on the cake. The 3 resorts under the Country Vacations Kerala are a perfect example of enjoyment, charm, peace all at the same time.

Country Club Kovalam

Amidst the calm of the countryside rests the Country Club Kovalam, in Trivandrum. The resort is surrounded by all kinds of vegetation, and bizarre sights in real. One can reach there by road, rail or air, all of which connect directly to Trivandrum.
In moving around town, it is the Kovalam beach that emerges the favorite tourist spot. But if one wishes to go picnic, the Nayyar Dam is the best venue. The most popular fishing site around is the Vizhijam village, which also appears to house a couple of historical monuments. The Lands End, Kanyakumari isnt far from here too. But if one is here, then thats the place to be.

Country Club Treasure Cove, Kovalam

If one wishes to relax, meditate, or searches for solitude, and enjoy at the same time, then there isnt a better place than the Treasure Cove, which flatters all tourists with a mere view from the low lying hill tops. To chase away the boredom and to refresh the tourist, the resort arranges for Kathakali Classical and Folk dance performances, along with regional Music concerts.
To drain all the tiredness from a long journey, the tourists may also indulge in special massages, and healthcare activities. But the most attractive feature of this resort is the curiosity it creates, which is cleared only when one arrives.

Country Club – Cochin

With Cochins historic past, it would have been disappointing not to have it as a tourist destination, and to fulfill that, nothings better than a Country Club here itself.

To get a true feel of the town, Country Vacations Kerala has the provision for their guests to visit the most happening tourist spots like the Fort Kochi, The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry and the Cherai Beach. To move around the city, there is a Thattekad Bird Sanctuary that houses numerous species of birds and animals too. One may also visit Kodanad Wildlife Reserve which is popular because of its elephants.

Country Vacations Kerala is the most suitable option for the ones who are looking for a calm and relaxed holiday package.
